Anatomical features: A large representative of the Salticidae, with males measuring 7-8.5 mm in length and females up to 9 mm. The females (photo) are generally similar in colour to the male, but the prosoma is shiny black with white hairs on the back and a central triangular white spot. The palpi in the male are black-white, and in the female completely white and densely covered with hairs.
Behaviour: The highly developed eyes of the Salticidae group are perhaps the most distinctive feature. The retinas of the eyes of these spiders can be moved backwards and forwards, allowing them to focus on their prey. In addition to the leaps typical of Salticidae, this species moves very quickly, which makes it difficult to observe.
