Anatomical features: Males are 5-6 mm long and females 5-7 mm long. The males have a dark prosoma with a very pronounced arched white band and a rust-coloured opisthosoma with a white anterior margin, while the females (photo) have a much lighter opisthosoma.
Behaviour: An active predator, whose highly developed eyes (the retinas of these spiders can be moved backwards and forwards, allowing them to focus on their prey) allow them to ambush their prey with great precision. Frequent in open areas, it has been found in areas at sea level up to 1500 m altitude.
